The Manchester Pride is a celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender life and it is one of the longest running in the country and attracts more than 70,000 people every year!
The event is mainly held in the gay village in and around Canal Street – home of Manchester’s massive gay scene.
The current Ten Day Festival includes a “Pride Fringe” with a series of arts, music and cultural events all over the city as well as community events including poetry readings, quizzes and film showings, culminating in “The Big Weekend”, a 72 hour party during the August Bank Holiday weekend with a Pride march, watched by thousands as over 100 floats make their way through the city streets.
Throughout the whole weekend there will be top DJ’s, funfair rides, dancing arenas, chill-out and family areas, market & community stalls and much much more!
There will also be a candlelit vigil in Sackville Gardens to reflect and remember those you’ve lost and to look forward.
