The famous Canal Street, along side the Rochdale canal that runs through the city centre, is lined with gay and lesbian bars and reseraunts.
The Street featured on both “Queer as folk” and “Bob and Rose” and is recognised as one of the most popular gay villages in Europe. A must see.
