The Albert Dock
It’s strange to think that 40% of the world’s trade once passed through the docks of Liverpool in the 19th century and although that’s no longer the case, the docks are still a must-see to get the most out of any stay in Liverpool. The Albert Dock is a collection of 19th century warehouse buildings that were recently renovated to the tune of £100m, to boast a collection of bars, restaurants and cafes, as well as tourist attractions guaranteed to delight Liverpool’s many intrepid travellers, including: The Beatles Story, The Liverpool Echo Arena and the Tate Gallery. The dock is a short stroll from Hatters Hostel and just a couple of minute’s walk from the new shopping development, Liverpool One.

The Beatles Story
The Beatles Story is Liverpool’s premier attraction for the biggest band that ever was. The museum is divided into the time periods The Beatles were at their most prominent, starting in Woolton Village, moving through Germany, The Cavern and the psychedelic years. The attraction features interviews with the people closest to the band, rare memorabilia attached to the band’s history as well as a gift shop for that perfect souvenir of your time in Liverpool, the home of rock and roll.
The Tate Gallery
The Tate Gallery is the country’s largest art gallery outside of London and houses the best collections the region has to offer. Over 6 million visitors have passed through the doors since it opened over a decade ago and the gallery hosts a formidable collection of modern and contemporary art, recently hosting the Picasso: Peace and Freedom exhibition.
